East Burke School is hiring for the 2018-19 School Year!

Job Description:

Burke School is a very small, state approved independent school with an enrollment of about 15 students in grades 8 through 12. Core principles of the school include:

  • a student centered approach to teaching
  • non-alphanumeric,  narrative student performance evaluations
  • proficiency based education
  • interdisciplinary and project based teaching and learning
  • education for life and post-secondary learning
  • learning experiences outside the classroom including travel
  • a site-based management approach in which teaching staff share administrative duties

This is a newly created teaching position at the school. The ideal candidate will be qualified and excited about teaching both humanities and mathematics content, though any teacher with an interest in joining our staff is encouraged to apply. In addition, sharing in the administrative responsibilities is expected.

Job Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in the subject area(s) to be taught is required, and related experience is preferred. Familiarity with the integration of educational technology is highly desirable. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S.
