EBS Awarded VAC Artists in Schools Grant
September 2022

East Burke School has been awarded a grant from the Vermont Arts Council in the amount of $3,000 to support a 60-hour artmaking residency aligned with the school's mission focused on climate and community resilience.  Check back for news on student artwork and upcoming exhibits!

Spring Fling Fundraiser

Cancelled for the past two years due to COVID-19 precautions, our long-time tradition for shaking off the winter blues is scheduled to return in spring 2023.  Check back soon for more details!

Farm Stand & Open House at Burke's Fall Foliage Festival
Fall Fest 2022 was a tremendous success for East Burke School: our students cranked out over 60 gallons of fresh apple cider and, with the help of dozens of volunteers and seven local businesses, sold every last drop!  If you took part in the effort this year, thank you so much for supporting your village high school.  We can't wait to beat this year's record on the third Saturday of September 2023!

EBS Awarded KTA Mini Grant

In addition to funds from the VCRD, EBS has been awarded a $2,000 grant from the Kingdom Trails Association to further develop our Food Forest!  In time, EBS’s grounds will be transformed into a public demonstration center for low-maintenance regenerative agriculture, a method of food production that yields crops year after year while actively restoring the soil.

EBS Awarded VCRD Climate Catalysts Innovation Fund Grant

This fall, EBS applied for and received a grant in the amount of $3,000 from the Vermont Council on Rural Development to support our school's Food Forest Project.  The grant will enable students and teachers to further develop the edible perennial gardens that they began to plant on campus in September '20.

EBS Awarded GMUW Emergency Relief Fund Grant

Last spring, EBS applied for and was awarded a grant in the amount of $1,000 from the Green Mountain United Way Emergency Relief Fund.  Along with the funds donated by friends, alumni, and other community supporters, this grant will be used to equip our faculty and students with the technology necessary for distance learning during COVID-19-related school closures. 

EBS Awarded VT School Safety and Security Grant

Last winter, EBS applied for and was awarded a VT School Safety and Security Grant in the amount of $3,687.  In conjunction with other funds, this grant will be used for facilities updates to ensure the safety of our students.
